Open Run and type cmd
- Right-click on the Command prompt and select Run as administrator
- In the Command prompt, type the following command and press Enter: chkdsk c: /f /r
- Wait for the scan to complete.
Type chkdsk /f
- in the search field.
- Type system restore and select Create a restore point option
- Click Next
- Click Next after choosing a restore point
- Click Next after choosing the destination
- The computer will now restart.
Reinstall the Common Files and Folders feature
- Go to Start > type cmd > right-click on Command prompt > select Run as administrator
- Type the following commands and press Enter after each.
Run SFC scan
- Open the Search bar, type cmd, and select Run as administrator.
- In the Command prompt, enter sfc/scannow and press Enter.
- Wait for the scan to complete.
- Restart your PC.

Run DISM
- Type in cmd in the search window.
- Right-click Command prompt and select Run as administrator.
- Type in the following command and press Enter: DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
- Wait for the scan to finish, then type in the following and press Enter: DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /CheckHealth
Update Windows
- Press the Windows key + I, and click on Update & Security.
- Click on Windows Update, and update the graphical shell and the operating system.
Clean boot
- Open Start > type msconfig > open System Configuration
Perform a System Restore
- Press Windows Key + S and type System Restore in the search box.
- Select Create a restore point under the System Restore section.
- Click Next to open the window in the snapshot directly below.
- Select the restore point and click Next to confirm.
- Next, select your preferred restore method.
- Click Next and wait for the restoration process to finish.
