Check if a third-party application is blocking your right-click
- Right-click empty space on your desktop > select Task Manager.
- Select Startup tab > scroll to the problematic application > right-click on it > select Disable.
- Close Task Manager.
Disable the Overlay Manager Service
- Open Regedit
Go to the following path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services - Locate the Overlay Manager Service (Type OverlayManagerService in the Search box)
- Right-click on it and select Properties.
- Go to the General tab and check the Startup type. If the startup type is Manual, change it to Automatic.
- Restart your computer.
Disable the Windows Error Reporting Service
- Open Command prompt as an administrator.
- In the Command prompt, type the following command and press Enter: net stop wuauserv
- Restart your computer
- Enable the Windows Error Reporting Service

Uninstall the third-party applications
- Exit all the programs running in the background.
- Press Windows Key + R to open Run.
- Type in appwiz.cpl and press Enter.
- Locate the application which you cannot right click and right click on it.
- Select Remove.
Re-register the Pointer Device
- Right-click the Start icon and open the Device Manager.
- Double-click the Mouse entry.
- Right-click the Mouse entry and open the Properties.
- Select the Driver tab.
- Click the Roll Back Driver button.
- Click Yes in the confirmation prompt.
- Restart your computer.
Reset Pointer device
- Right-click on Start and open Device Manager
- Expand Mice and other pointing devices
- Right-click on the pointer device and click “Disable”
- Restart your computer
Change the default settings
- Right-click the program’s taskbar icon and select Properties on the context menu.
- Click the Customize button to open further settings.
- Select the Start Menu tab on the Customize Start Menu page.
- Press the Use custom settings for this program or turn off Use Start menu for all programs.
- Click OK to close the dialog box.
