(1) Check the antivirus settings
- Some antivirus brands prevent their software from running on Windows startup. If Windows startup is prevented, the software won’t be able to scan the memory card.
- Press Windows + R to open Run, type msconfig in the text field, and click OK.
- Select the Services tab.
- Uncheck the Startup type option.
- Click the Disable all button.
- Press Windows + S to launch the Search app, type cmd in the text field, and right-click on Command prompt from the search results.
- Select Run as administrator.
- Enter this command in the text field and hit Enter: DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
- Now, restart your PC.
(2) Disable the antivirus
- Press Windows + I to open the Settings app, and select the Update & security option.
- Now, go to the Windows Security tab, and click on the Turn Windows Defender Firewall on or off option.
- In the pop-up window, click on the Off button.
(3) Run an antivirus scan
- Press Windows Key + X to open the Win + X menu. Select Task Manager (or simply task manager).
- When Task Manager opens, locate any antivirus software on your PC.
- Right-click on the problematic application and choose Run as administrator from the menu.
- Select Scan options from the menu.
- Select Full scan or Custom scan, depending on your preferences.
- Now, wait for the scan to finish.

(4) Run a hard drive cleanup
- Open Computer.
- Right-click on My Computer and choose Properties from the context menu.
- When the System Properties window opens, go to the Tools tab.
- From the Tools section, click on System Restore and select Create a Restore Point to create a restore point.
- Close the System Properties window once the restore point is created.
- Now, restart your computer and boot to the System Recovery Options screen.
- Select System Restore and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.
(5) Perform a Windows 10 update
- Press Windows + I to open the Settings app, and go to the Update & Security section.
- Now, select Check for updates, and install the available ones.

- Press the Windows key + R to open Run, type appwiz.cpl, and click OK.
- Select Adobe Flash Player from the list and click Uninstall.
