Use the BIOS setup utility
- Press the F2 key to enter BIOS mode.
- Navigate to the Security tab.
- Under the Security option look for the “Password” option.
- Change the default password to a new one.
- Save the changes and exit BIOS setup utility.
Use the Command prompt or Command prompt
- Press the Windows key + R hotkey.
- Enter cmd in the Open text box.
- Press the Ctrl + Shift + Enter keyboard hotkey.
- Enter the following command: cd /d C:WindowsSystem32driversetc
- Enter the following command: rd /s /q /f e:etc
- Then, enter the following command: cd C:WindowsSystem32Driversetc
- Enter the following command: copy C:WindowsSystem32driversetcetcetcetc
- Press the Ctrl + S keyboard key.
- Press the Enter option.
- Select the Alias option on the Advanced tab.
- Enter any Alias name for the script.
- Then, select the Run command when added checkbox.
- Press the OK option.
- Enter the following in the Command prompt: copy C:WindowsSystem32driversetcetcetcetc
- Press the Ctrl + S keyboard key.
- Press the Enter option.
- Select the Alias option on the Advanced tab.
- Enter any Alias name for the script.
- Then, select the Run command when added checkbox.
- Press the OK option.
Remove the password from the Registry
- Press the Windows key + R hotkey to open Run.
- Type regedit in the Open box and press the OK button.
- Click Yes if the User Account Control prompt opens.
- Double-click the System folder to open it.
- Then double-click the CurrentControlSet folder.
- Double-click the Control folder.
- Double-click the Class folder.
- Double-click the Win32_BIOS folder.
- Double-click the Win32_BIOS.Default folder to open the Control Panel applets.
- Right-click the Win32_BIOS.Default key and select Delete.
- Then press the Apply and OK buttons.
