Ensure that your ThinkPad has a recovery partition

Use the recovery disk creation tool
- Download the Lenovo Thinkpad Recovery Disk Creation Tool from Lenovo’s website.
- Double-click the .exe file, then follow the on-screen instructions to install the tool.
- After installing the tool, launch it.
- Click on the “Create Recovery Disk” option.
- Insert a blank CD or DVD into the optical drive.
