Replace the cartridges
- Open the HP printer’s front cover.
- Press the Power button to turn off the printer.
- Wait for about 30 seconds before opening it again.
- Detach the cartridges from the HP printer.
- Now, reseat and close the ink cartridge and close the HP printer’s front cover.
Clean the print head
- The print heads are the part of the printer that the ink will flow through. If the print heads are clogged, the printer can’t print.
- If applicable, remove the ink cartridge from the printer, and then clean the ink cartridges.
- Clean the ink cartridges
- Remove the ink cartridges from the printer, and then clean the ink cartridges.
- Clean the ink cartridge contacts
Remove the ink cartridge from the printer and wipe down its contacts. - If the contacts are still clogged, use a pencil eraser to remove the lint from the contacts.
- Reinstall the driver
- If the printer isn’t recognized after reinstalling the driver, try uninstalling and reinstalling the driver.
Switch cartridges
- If the issue persists, try to switch the cartridges.

Check the cartridges for any physical damages and replace the cartridge that’s not working. - Clean the printhead
- Disconnect the power cord from the printer.
- Press the power button for 10 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord and try printing again.
- Clean the printhead
- Disconnect the power cord from the printer.

- Check if ink cartridge is swollen
- Disconnect the power cord from the printer.
- Press the power button for 10 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord and try printing again.
- Try printing from a different USB port
- Disconnect the power cord from the printer.
- Press the power button for 10 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord and try printing again.
