Reinstall the DriveFormat tool
- Go to Start > type Run > click Run
- Type the following and hit Enter: appwiz.cpl
- Locate the DriveFormat tool > click Uninstall
- Reboot the PC
- Download and install the DriveFormat tool
- Reboot your PC
Run the SFC and DISM tool
- Type cmd in the search bar > right click on Command prompt and select Run as Administrator.
- Now type the following commands and press Enter after every command: DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /RestoreHealth
- Check if that fixed the issue.

Perform a Check Disk
- To check your USB drive for any errors, you can right-click the USB drive in Windows Explorer.
- Select the Properties option.
- Then, select the Tools tab.
- Click the Check Disk button.
- After checking your USB drive, try formatting it with 7-Zip again.

You can perform an error check on your USB drive in Windows Explorer. - Right-click the USB drive and select the Properties option.
