Run the Exchange Setup tool
- Open the Event Viewer and select the Application logs option.
- Right-click on Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 and then click on Properties.
- Check the Log on failure and Logon failure options, and click on the Advanced tab.
- Click on the Error messages tab, and check Log all errors.
- Click Apply, and then click on OK.
Run the Setup tool as an administrator
- Open the Exchange Management Console > right-click the Organization > select Properties.
- Select the Security tab > check the Read permission checkbox > click OK.

Run the Setup tool as Exchange 2003
- Right-click Exchange 2003 in the Programs section.
- Select the Run as administrator option.
- Then double-click Setup.exe to open the Setup wizard.
- Press the Next button to proceed.
- Select the Repair option on the Installation Type screen.
- Press the Next button.
- Then select the Exchange server you want to repair, and click Next.
- Press the Next button.
- Select the Repair option on the Repair screen.
- Press the Next button.

- Restart the Windows Mail service.
- Run the Exchange Management Console.
- Navigate to the Database Availability Group – Mailbox.
- Expand the Database Availability Group, and then select the Mailbox Server.
- Click on the Properties option.
- Select the Clients tab.
- Select the Client Access server, and then click on Properties.
- Check the Client Access Server Status, and then ensure that it is Running.
