Run the Group Policy Client-Side Extensions troubleshooter
- To do that, open the Run accessory.
- Enter the keyword “troubleshoot” in Run’s Open box.
- Click the Troubleshoot option in Run’s left pane.
- Click Client-Side Extension troubleshooter in Run’s right pane.
- Click the Run the troubleshooter button.
- Wait for the troubleshooter to run.
Run the SFC scan
- Press Windows key + X to open the Power User menu.
- Choose the Command prompt from the list.
- Run the command: sfc/scannow
- The SFC scan will now start.
Roll back Windows update
- Update the Group Policy Service
- Update the Group Policy Development Kit
- Update the Group Policy Management Console
- Update the Group Policy Client

Create a new local policy
- Press Windows Key + R to open Run.
- Type gpedit.msc and click OK.
- In Local Group Policy Editor, go to Administrative Templates.
- Double-click on Internet Explorer 10.
- Select Turn off Group Policy Client-Side Extensions.
- Finally, select Apply, then OK.
- Restart your computer.
Create a new GPO
- Navigate to User Configuration.
- Navigate to Administrative Templates.
- Go to Windows Components.
- Open Group Policy.
- Right-click on Administrative Templates and select Create new policy.
- Name the policy as Logoff.
- Select Enabled.
- Now set the policy to Logoff users automatically after.
Run the MalwareBytes Anti-Malware scan
- Download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (MBAM) from the official website.
- Run the downloaded file.
- If MBAM asks you to update its database, update it.
- Click Scan.
- The scan can take a lot of time.

Log on to the computer where Group Policy Client is installed
Open Group Policy Management
Expand Group Policy Objects
Right-click Group Policy Objects
Select New - Name the new policy, and select Client Computer from the Scope list.
- Right-click the new policy and select Edit
- Go to Computer Configuration > Policies > Administrative Templates > Windows Components
- Double-click Security Settings for Microsoft Antimalware
- Scroll down to the Protected folders page.
- On the Protected Folders page, double-click the path next to Start.
- Click Add to add the protected folder.
- Click Add to add Program Files.
- Click the Settings button next to the Protected Folders item.
- Restart the computer
