Perform a clean boot
- Go to Start > type msconfig > press Enter
- Go to Services tab > check Hide all Microsoft Services > click OK
Perform a System Restore
- Press Windows + R to open Run, enter sysdm.cpl, and click OK.
- Choose the System Restore tab, and then click on Choose a different restore point.
- Finally, select an earlier restore point and click the Next button.

Uninstall the SATA drivers
- Go to the Device Manager.
- Expand the IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers.
- Right-click on the SATA Controller.
- Select Uninstall device.
- Follow the prompts to complete the uninstallation.
- Restart the computer.
Format the hard drive
- Take the hard drive out of the PC, and connect it to a Windows machine.
- Right-click on the hard drive in File Explorer, and select Format.
- Select a file system, and then click on Start.
Reset the BIOS
- Press the Delete key during boot.
- Select F2 or DEL, and then press Enter.
- Select Reset to Default and then select Yes to confirm.
- Check if the error is solved.
Set up the BIOS to boot from the SATA drive
- Press the F2 key while your computer is booting.
- Go to the Boot tab, and select the SATA as the boot device.
- Press Enter to save the changes.
- Try to restart your computer.
