Change the BIOS settings
- To change your BIOS settings, press the F1 key.
- Select Setup and Advanced BIOS Features.
- Enable the Fast Boot feature.
- Disable the UEFI Secure Boot feature.
- Disable the Virtualization Technology.
- Disable the CPU Power Management feature.
Update BIOS
- Update your BIOS to the latest version.
- Go to ASUS official website and download the latest BIOS version for your motherboard.
- Save the BIOS file to the desktop.
- Restart your computer.
- When the BIOS update screen appears, click Yes to restart the system.
Perform a Clean Boot
- Press the Windows key + R to open the Run window.
- Type msconfig in the Run window and press Enter to launch System Configuration window.
- Click Services tab and uncheck Hide all Microsoft services option.
- Click the OK button.
- Click Startup tab, uncheck Load system services and Hide all Microsoft services checkbox.
- Click Apply and OK to save the changes.
- Restart your PC.

Perform a SFC scan

Press the Windows key + X and select Command prompt (Admin) or PowerShell (Admin)
Type the following command and press Enter: sfc /scannow - Wait for the scan to complete (it will take about 20 minutes)
Perform an SFC and DISM scan
- Press Windows key + R to open the Run program.
- Type sfc/scannow in the Run box.
- Press Enter to run the SFC scan.
- Wait for the process to complete, and restart your computer.
Reset the BIOS
- If resetting the BIOS does not resolve the persistent error, try resetting the BIOS.
- Turn off your system and disconnect the power cable.
- Wait for 10 seconds, and then reconnect the power cable.
- Restart your PC.
Perform an SFC scan
- Press Windows Key + R to open Run.
- Type cmd and click OK or press Enter to run Command prompt as administrator.
- In the Command prompt, type the following command and press Enter: sfc /scannow
Perform a DISM scan
- Press the Windows key + S, type in cmd, and select Run as administrator under the Command prompt option.
- Now, type the following command and press Enter: DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
- After performing the full scan, restart your desktop or laptop.
- Try updating your BIOS again
